Searching for affordable hotels in Guangzhou, China for your next adventure? In this guide, I’ve rounded up some of the highly rated, yet affordable places to stay in the city. Guangzhou is one of the largest cities in China, and finding the best accommodation can feel overwhelming.
One of the best areas to stay in Guangzhou is around Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in the Yuexiu District. It is part of the old city center, known for its older and historic buildings. I personally recommend staying near Beijing Road because you’re just steps away from the shopping street, with plenty of restaurants to try and more affordable hotel options.
Alternatively, if you prefer more modern areas with tall skyscrapers, you might want to stay in Tianhe District. It’s the central business hub of Guangzhou and is known for its newer landmarks. Whether you stay in Yuexiu, Tianhe, or another district, it’s best to choose accommodation near a metro station or bus stop.
Where to Book Your Stay in Guangzhou
If you’re planning to stay in Yuexiu District or Tianhe District, you can easily compare hotel prices on Agoda and Trip.com. Both platforms offer plenty of options, flexible payment choices, and regular discount
If you’re planning to stay near the Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, here are some affordable hotels in Guangzhou worth checking out.
Yizhi Meiju (Beijing Road Pedestrian Street)
During our stay in Guangzhou, we stayed at Yizhi Meiju Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. I found and booked the hotel through Trip.com, and didn’t see it listed on other booking platforms. Keep in mind that the hotel signage says “Echic HL,” and the reception is located on the second floor of the building.

I booked the Executive Suite, which can accommodate up to three people. The room has a modern and stylish design with a minimalist touch. It also features a cozy window seating area, a perfect spot to relax in the morning or unwind after a long day of exploring the city.

Another highlight of the hotel is the private bathroom, which features a bathtub with a view of the city. Considering the room amenities, location, and overall comfort, the room rates are quite reasonable. For three nights in the Executive Suite, we paid around $250 per night.

Transportation:
Getting around the hotel is convenient, as it’s near two metro stations:
• Haizhu Square Station – about a 7-minute walk from the hotel
• Beijing Lu Station – about an 11-minute walk from the hotel
However, if you’re arriving in Guangzhou during the early hours, I highly recommend booking a ride through Didi or arranging an airport transfer, either directly with your hotel or through Trip.com.
Since our flight arrived after midnight, I booked an airport transfer through Trip.com. It was much more convenient, as the driver was already waiting at the arrivals area holding a sign with my name.
Hotel Highlights:
The hotel also offers a few amenities for guests to enjoy, including a 24-hour front desk, snack bar, gym, laundry room, and kids’ club.
Nearby Finds:
Aside from Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, there’s also a convenience store beside the hotel and a halal restaurant just a few steps away, making it easy to grab essentials or enjoy a meal nearby.

Getting Around China by Train
If you’re planning to explore more of China or travel from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, taking the train is one of the most convenient options. You can easily check routes, view schedules, and book tickets through Trip.com.
