Are you wondering where to in Singapore? With so many options across the city, choosing the best area can feel overwhelming. Some notable areas to consider are the city center neighborhoods, particularly Bugis, Clarke Quay, Chinatown, Little India, and Orchard. In this post, I’ll share the best hotels in Singapore’s top areas for a budget-friendly stay.
During my visit, I wanted to stay in Bugis because it’s centrally located and offers a bustling Singapore vibe, with shops and a street market just a short walk away. My second option was to stay in or near Arab Street to immerse myself in its Middle Eastern ambiance. However, the hotels were either beyond my budget, the rooms weren’t suitable for me, or there simply weren’t many accommodation options available, especially on my travel dates.
Aside from the location, I was looking for a modern, well-reviewed hotel. A twin room with a window and proximity to a train station were definitely must-haves for me. While I was searching for hotels in Singapore, I came across Citadines Rochor. Located in the Little India district, it checked off all the criteria I was looking for.

Citadines Rochor
Citadines Rochor is conveniently located near two train stations in Little India. The closest is Rochor Station, just a 4-minute walk away, along with a nearby bus stop. Bugis Station is only one stop away from Rochor, and the hotel is also close to Arab Street.
It is a 4-star serviced hotel offering a variety of room types to accommodate different group sizes. I personally booked a twin room with a window. Our room included all the basic essentials you’d expect from any hotel, plus a microwave. Although the room rates weren’t exactly budget-friendly, they were relatively affordable for Singapore standards, especially compared to other hotels offering similar amenities.

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
The hotel features a relaxing lounge area where guests can wait for both check-in and check-out. There is also a refreshment area where guests can buy drinks, along with a self-serve mini Starbucks café for their daily caffeine fix.

Guests can also unwind at the hotel’s swimming pool or work-out at the fitness center. Citadines Rochor also offers a shared kitchen, perfect for preparing your own meals, and a launderette for added convenience during your stay.

Payment Information:
Citadines Rochor is a cashless hotel, accepting both credit and debit cards. Please note, Diners Club cards are not widely accepted in Singapore.
I booked our stay at Citadines Rochor through Agoda.com. If you’d like, you can also check Trip.com to compare rates and availability.
